Principal's Welcome

August 8, 2025

Dear Olinda Families,

I hope you and your family have enjoyed a joyful and restful summer. It is with great excitement that I welcome you back for the 2025-2026 school year. Whether you are a returning family or joining our school community for the first time, we are thrilled to have you with us.

This year brings new opportunities for growth, learning, and connection. Our dedicated staff has been working hard to prepare engaging lessons, create welcoming classrooms, and design meaningful experiences for all students. Together, we will continue to nurture a safe, inclusive, and challenging environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We are excited to share that we have an additional Transitional Kindergarten (TK) class in Room 8. We are currently working with our Human Resources Department to hire a teacher and an instructional aide to support this new program. We are also awaiting final assignments from our Special Education Department for Speech, Occupational Therapy, and School Psychology services, and we look forward to welcoming those team members once confirmed.

We are excited to announce that our district is adopting Eureka Math² (Eureka Squared) as our new mathematics curriculum. This program is designed to build deep mathematical understanding, encourage critical thinking, and help students see the connections between concepts.

TK/K Play Date – Hosted by the PTA

Join us for a fun play date to meet fellow TK and Kindergarten families! This is a great opportunity for students to make new friends before the school year begins, and for parents to connect with our wonderful PTA.

When: Saturday, August 16th from 9 am to 11 am

Where: TK/K Play Yard, at the front of the school

Don’t miss out on the fun—and while you’re there, learn more about how you can join the PTA and help make a difference in our school community!

Become a PTA Member – Make a Difference!

Our PTA plays a vital role in creating a supportive, enriching environment for all students. From organizing fun events to funding important programs, every PTA membership helps strengthen our school community.

Whether you have time to volunteer or simply want to show your support, joining the PTA is one of the easiest ways to make a positive impact. Membership is open to parents, guardians, grandparents, teachers, and community members—everyone is welcome!

Together, we can create memorable experiences and lasting opportunities for our children.

Join today and help us make this year our best yet! https://olindapta.org/

Class Assignments: Class groupings are being finalized, and lists will be posted on ParentSquare on Friday, August 15. Families may have preferences regarding teachers, but please be assured that our experienced staff has thoughtfully placed each student where they can make the most progress. Our primary goal is to foster an environment where every child can thrive both academically and socially.

Annual Forms Reminder

Please complete your annual forms, including the educational benefits form in PowerSchool, before the first day of school. These forms are essential for updating your child’s information, emergency contacts, and other important records. TK & K families will receive information on the first day of school to create their PowerSchool accounts.

In the coming weeks, you can expect more communication regarding upcoming events, including Back-to-School Night, parent meetings, and opportunities to get involved. We encourage you to stay connected via ParentSquare as our ongoing source of communication.

The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 19, and is a minimum day. We are eager to greet our students with smiles and open arms. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. Your support, partnership, and involvement make all the difference in creating a strong and vibrant school community.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead filled with learning, laughter, and success for all!

With gratitude and excitement,

Amandeep Randhawa
